Postal voting for the 2024 General Election is set to begin tomorrow (30), according to the Election Commission. Voting will be available at all police stations, District Secretariats, Election Commission Offices, and the Office of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), starting tomorrow.
In addition, these offices will also be open for postal voting on November 4. For members of the armed forces and other government institutions, postal voting is scheduled for November 1 and November 4.
The Election Commission has confirmed that postal voters unable to cast their ballots on these dates may vote at the District Secretariat where their workplace is located.
Rohana Hettiarachchi, Executive Director of People’s Action for Free & Fair Elections (PAFFREL), announced that approximately a thousand officials will be deployed to monitor the postal voting process during this year’s General Election.
