President Anura Kumara Dissanayake arrived in Parliament this morning to present the 2025 Budget. The Cabinet of Ministers approved the budget presentation during a meeting held earlier today (17).
Delivering the country’s 79th Budget Speech, President Dissanayake, in his capacity as Minister of Finance, commenced the Second Reading of the Appropriation Bill for the fiscal year 2025 at 10:30 a.m.
The debate on the Second Reading is scheduled to take place from February 18 to 25, spanning seven days, with the vote set for February 25 at 6:00 p.m.
Following this, the Committee Stage Debate will be conducted over 19 days, including four Saturdays, from February 27 to March 21. The final vote on the Third Reading of the bill is scheduled for March 21 at 6:00 p.m.
