The second budget of the National People’s Power (NPP) government is scheduled to be presented to Parliament tomorrow (07), marking the 80th national budget of independent Sri Lanka.
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, in his capacity as Minister of Finance, will deliver the second reading of the Appropriation Bill, commonly known as the Budget Speech, in Parliament.
The first reading of the Appropriation Bill was tabled in Parliament on September 26, 2025.
Following the presentation of the 2026 Budget, the debate on the second reading of the Appropriation Bill will begin on Saturday (08). Six days have been allocated for this debate, with the vote on the second reading scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on November 14.
The Committee Stage debate will continue for 17 days, from November 15 to December 5, while the final vote on the third reading is set to take place at 6:00 p.m. on December 5.
