During a meeting held yesterday (30) at the Presidential Secretariat, the President highlighted the vision of making Sri Lanka one of Asia’s most valuable and environmentally sustainable islands. Discussions centered on promoting tourism through environmental and cultural avenues while emphasizing the importance of uniting stakeholders from both formal and informal sectors to advance the industry.
Attendees included Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs Dr. Hiniduma Sunil Senevi, Minister of Environment Dr. Dammika Patabendi, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau Buddhika Hewawasam, Director General of the Department of Wildlife Conservation Chandana Sooriyabandara, Director General of the Central Cultural Fund Dr. T.M.J. Nilan Cooray, and other senior officials.
The meeting reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing Sri Lanka’s global appeal as a tourist destination through sustainable and culturally rich initiatives.
