President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, currently on a three-day official visit to India, engaged in a productive discussion with leading Indian business representatives yesterday (16) in New Delhi.
The meeting, organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), brought together some of India’s most prominent entrepreneurs, according to the President’s Media Division (PMD).
President Dissanayake highlighted Sri Lanka’s investor-friendly environment and extended an invitation to Indian entrepreneurs to explore investment opportunities in the country.
The discussions focused on strengthening trade and investment ties between the two nations, particularly in key sectors such as the digital economy, tourism, renewable energy, and information technology. Expanding investment opportunities through enhanced bilateral trade was also emphasized.
Indian business leaders expressed their readiness to invest in Sri Lanka, while the Sri Lankan government assured its commitment to providing the necessary facilitation for investments.
Minister of Labour and Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Prof. Anil Jayantha Fernando, also contributed valuable insights during the discussion.
