A Public Assistance Service will be set up at the Galle Face area, opposite the Presidential Secretariat, starting 21st December 2025, to support the large gatherings expected during the festive season.
The service will operate through the coordinated efforts of the Tri-Forces and the Sri Lanka Police and will serve as a central contact point for the public, providing immediate assistance, guidance, and coordination during emergencies or unforeseen situations.
The initiative aims to enhance public safety, awareness, and rapid response capabilities in the area. In addition to security and coordination functions, ambulance services and on-site health support will be available to handle medical emergencies and provide first aid as needed.
The Ministry of Defence, together with the Tri-Forces and the Sri Lanka Police, reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the well-being of the public, ensuring that citizens and visitors can enjoy the Galle Face area safely and securely.
For assistance, the public can contact the Public Assistance Helpline at 071 859 5880, which covers emergency coordination, ambulance services, and police support.
