The much-anticipated launch of City of Dreams Sri Lanka — South Asia’s first integrated resort — will take place on August 2, 2025, but attendance will be strictly by invitation, the developers confirmed in a statement issued Tuesday.
The announcement follows reports of unauthorized tickets being circulated for the event. “This event is strictly invitation-only. No third parties are authorized to issue, distribute, or sell tickets,” the statement emphasized. Organizers urged the public to avoid interacting with unofficial sources and warned of potential scams.
The resort, formerly known as Cinnamon Life Integrated Resort, has been rebranded as City of Dreams Sri Lanka following a partnership between Sri Lanka’s John Keells Holdings (JKH) and global gaming giant Melco Resorts & Entertainment to operate a state-of-the-art casino within the billion-dollar Colombo complex.
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is expected to attend the grand opening as a special guest, adding further prestige to the launch.
The event will mark the official unveiling of the final components of the project, including a premium shopping mall, the upscale Nüwa hotel, and a world-class casino, positioning City of Dreams Sri Lanka as a major regional tourism and entertainment hub.
