Rare Frog Species Thought Extinct for 160 Years Discovered at Siripa

Deputy Minister of Environment Anton Jayakody announced that a frog species believed to have been extinct for nearly 160 years has been rediscovered at the Siripa site.

The newly identified species has been named Stella’s Star Frog, marking a significant breakthrough in Sri Lanka’s biodiversity research and conservation efforts.
