Former UNP Deputy Leader, MP Ravi Karunanayake, described the government’s recent decision regarding the security of former presidents as politically motivated.
Speaking to the media, he warned that the current government will be held responsible for any consequences arising from this decision.
MP Karunanayake highlighted that several national leaders played a crucial role in ending the war, and their courageous decisions should be acknowledged. He stressed that their security must not be compromised and emphasized that proper protection should be provided proactively, rather than waiting for formal requests.
