Former UNP Deputy Leader and MP Ravi Karunanayake says that a budget charts the direction of a country’s economy for the coming year.
Speaking to the media, he stated that the current budget reflects and advances the policies of the UNP, and expressed his approval of this approach.
Karunanayake noted that the budget continues the policies initiated by the UNP in 2015–2016 and implemented by former President Ranil Wickremesinghe in 2023.
He added that, in his view, this budget is structured to move the economy forward while maintaining fiscal discipline.
