Former Deputy Leader of the United National Party (UNP), MP Ravi Karunanayake, has expressed support for the government’s position that loss-making state institutions should be privatized.
Speaking to the media, Karunanayake described it as a positive development that some government representatives, who previously opposed such measures, are now aligning with this approach.
He emphasized that the key is for the government to continue on this correct path, noting that the current administration is essentially following the same course the UNP had pursued in the past. “Some of the current government representatives who criticized the UNP then have now recognized that this is the right approach,” he added.
