Former UNP Deputy Leader, MP Ravi Karunanayake, has called for an unconditional merger between the United National Party (UNP) and the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB).
In an interview, Karunanayake emphasized the urgency of the merger and expressed his willingness to take personal responsibility for facilitating the process.
“I am ready to act as a mediator and ensure this happens,” he said, stressing that focusing on issues such as leadership will only prevent the parties from resolving their current differences.
He added that a merger without conditions is essential for both parties to move forward effectively.
