Ravi: Market Access is the Path to Connect Sri Lanka to the World

Former Deputy Leader of the United National Party (UNP) and Member of Parliament Ravi Karunanayake says that expanding market access is the key to connecting Sri Lanka to the global economy.

Speaking in an interview, Karunanayake cited Singapore as a prime example, noting that despite having a population of just around 7 million, the country exports to markets across the world through a well-developed trade system.

He emphasized that Sri Lanka, with its strategically important geographical location, should adopt similar market-driven approaches.

The MP further stressed the importance of integrating with regional trade partnerships, stating that such alliances are essential for creating new opportunities for Sri Lanka to expand its export base and global reach.
