Former Deputy Leader of the United National Party (UNP) and MP Ravi Karunanayake commented on the issuance of asset and liability declarations by both ruling party and opposition parliamentarians.
Speaking to the media, he said that these declarations clearly reflect what has taken place during the 77 years of governance.
He emphasized that wealth should not be limited to a few individuals, but that everyone should have the opportunity to prosper.
The MP further stated that instead of creating economic barriers, the government must build an environment that enables all citizens to achieve such progress.
He added that the focus should not be on blaming each other or making naïve statements, but on developing the country.
