Former UNP Deputy Leader, MP Ravi Karunanayake, emphasized that Independent Commissions are not meant to serve political interests.
Speaking to the media, he warned that politicizing these commissions would undermine their independence. MP Karunanayake stressed the importance of safeguarding their autonomy and assured that he would highlight this to the government.
He also underscored that the benefits of all such initiatives should reach the people rather than serving political parties.
