Former Deputy Leader of the United National Party, MP Ravi Karunanayake, called on the current government to present a clear program for national development rather than engaging in childish rhetoric.
Speaking to the media, he noted that the same allegations now being made against government leaders regarding their assets and liabilities were previously directed at them when they were in opposition.
MP Karunanayake questioned why these officials hid their assets in the past and emphasized that the wealth they acquired is a natural outcome of an open economy. He added that the UNP has no objection to such growth and welcomes it.
