Former Deputy Leader of the United National Party, MP Ravi Karunanayake, has called for the ‘Rebuilding Sri Lanka’ Fund, led by the President, to be legalized and presented before Parliament.
Speaking to the media, MP Karunanayake emphasized that the fund should operate within a clear legal framework. He also stressed the importance of transparency, urging that the methods of raising and spending the fund be disclosed to the public.
“The fund should be registered in a manner that ensures legality and parliamentary oversight,” he said, underlining the need for accountability in managing the resources aimed at national reconstruction.
