Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) organizer for the Weligama electorate and former Mayor of Weligama, Rehan Jayawickreme, has announced his resignation from the party.
In a letter addressed to SJB Leader Sajith Premadasa, Jayawickreme stated that he was stepping down due to dissatisfaction with the party’s current policies.
He stressed that his decision was not a self-serving political move, but one made by setting aside personal ambitions to address the short-, medium-, and long-term challenges facing the country.
