The Labour and Foreign Employment Ministry reported a substantial increase in remittances in February, with expatriate workers sending a total of USD 476.4 million to the country. This marks a noteworthy 14 percent growth compared to the same month last year.
Over the recent period, the cumulative remittance inflow has reached an impressive USD 9691.4 million, showcasing the continued financial support from expatriate workers to their home country.
The Labour and Foreign Employment Ministry emphasized the positive response from expatriate workers to the encouragement of using legal channels for remittance transactions. This reflects a concerted effort to streamline and legitimize the remittance process, contributing to the overall economic well-being of the nation.
