Applications for scholarships supporting the children of Sri Lankan migrant workers will close on 15 September 2025.
Eligible students include those who have passed the Grade 5 Scholarship Exam, G.C.E. Ordinary Level (O/L), or G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) and are currently enrolled in a university or technical institute.
The scholarship amounts are as follows:

Rs. 25,000 for Grade 5 Scholarship Exam passers

Rs. 30,000 for O/L passers

Rs. 40,000 for A/L passers
To qualify, the child’s parent must have been registered with the relevant foreign employment bureau and engaged in overseas employment between 1 January 2019 and 15 September 2024.
A total of 1,628 students are expected to benefit from this initiative, with over Rs. 50 million allocated for distribution.
