Several spells of showers are forecast today (26) in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North Western provinces, as well as in the Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts, according to the Department of Meteorology.
Mainly dry weather is expected to prevail across the rest of the island.
Meanwhile, strong winds of 40–50 km/h are likely at times over the western slopes of the Central Hills, the Northern and North Central provinces, and the Hambantota, Trincomalee and Puttalam districts.
The Department of Meteorology has advised the public to exercise caution due to the strong winds and take necessary precautions to minimise potential damage.
