A few showers are expected today (15) in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North Western provinces, as well as in the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts, according to the Department of Meteorology.
Mainly dry weather is expected to prevail across the rest of the island.
Meanwhile, strong winds of 40–50 km/h are forecast at times over the western slopes of the Central Hills, the Northern, North Central and North Western provinces, and the Monaragala, Hambantota and Trincomalee districts.
The Department of Meteorology has advised the public to exercise caution due to the strong winds and urged those in areas expected to receive showers to take the necessary precautions.
