Showers or thundershowers will occur at times today (31) in the Northern, Eastern, Central, North Central, North Western, and Uva provinces, the Department of Meteorology said.
Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 75 mm is likely at some places in the Central, North Western, and Uva provinces.
The Meteorology Department added that showers or thundershowers may also occur at several places in other parts of the country after 2.00 p.m.
Meanwhile, misty conditions are expected at some locations in the Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts, during the early hours of the morning.
The general public has been advised to take adequate precautions to minimise damage caused by temporary localised strong winds and lightning associated with thundershowers.
