Department of Meteorology says showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Western, North-Central and Eastern provinces, as well as in the Badulla, Galle, and Matara districts after 2.00 p.m. today (03).
Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 50 mm is likely at some places in the Sabaragamuwa Province and in the Colombo, Kalutara, Galle, and Matara districts.
Showers are also expected in coastal areas of the Southern Province and in the Kalutara and Colombo districts during the morning hours, the department added.
Misty conditions can be expected at several places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Uva provinces, as well as in the Ampara District during the early hours of the morning.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
