The Department of Meteorology has forecast showers or thundershowers at times in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as in the Galle, Matara, and Puttalam districts today (15).
Showers or thundershowers are also likely in several other parts of the island during the evening or night.
Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 50 mm is expected in some areas within the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, and in the Galle, Matara, Trincomalee, and Mullaittivu districts.
Additionally, fairly strong winds of 30–40 kmph are anticipated at times in the North-western and Southern provinces.
The general public is kindly advised to take necessary precautions against temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
