The Department of Meteorology has forecast showers at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western provinces, as well as in the Nuwara-Eliya, Kandy, Galle, and Matara districts.
Fairly heavy rainfall of around 50 mm is likely in some areas, the department added.
A few showers may occur in the Anuradhapura and Matale districts, while showers or thundershowers are expected in Uva and Eastern provinces during the afternoon or night.
Meanwhile, fairly strong winds of 30–40 kmph can be expected at times over the western slopes of the central hills, and in parts of the Northern, North-Central, and North-Western provinces, as well as in the Trincomalee and Hambantota districts.
The general public is advised to take necessary precautions against temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
