Several spells of showers are expected in the Northern, North Central, Eastern, Uva and Central Provinces, as well as in the Hambantota District, today (02), according to the Department of Meteorology.
Showers or thundershowers are likely at several places in the Western and Sabaragamuwa Provinces and in the Galle and Matara Districts after 2.00 p.m.
The Meteorology Department said fairly heavy rainfall of around 50 mm can be expected at some locations.
Misty conditions are also expected at certain places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central Provinces, and in the Galle and Matara Districts during the early morning hours.
The general public is advised to take adequate precautions to minimize possible damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning associated with thundershowers.
