Showers Expected in Several Provinces Today, Strong Winds Likely in Northern Regions

The Department of Meteorology has forecast several spells of showers today (13th) in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts.

In addition, showers or thundershowers may occur in a few areas of the Central and Uva provinces, and in the Ampara and Batticaloa districts, particularly after 1:00 p.m.

Fairly strong winds, ranging between 30–40 kmph, are expected at times across the Northern, North-Central, North-Western, and Southern provinces, as well as in the Trincomalee district.

The general public is kindly advised to take necessary precautions to minimize potential damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
