Department of Meteorology Sri Lanka said several spells of showers will occur in the Central and Uva provinces, as well as in the Ampara, Batticaloa, and Hambantota districts today (16).
Showers or thundershowers are also likely at a few places in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts after 2.00 p.m.
Misty conditions can be expected during the early morning hours in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Central provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts, the Department added.
The general public is advised to take adequate precautions to minimize possible damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
