Showers Expected in Western, Southern Regions; Thundershowers Possible Elsewhere

The Department of Meteorology forecasts several spells of showers today (14) in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-western provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts.

Meanwhile, showers or thundershowers are likely to occur after 1:00 p.m. at a few places in the Central, Uva, North-central, and Eastern provinces.

Fairly strong winds, ranging from 30 to 40 kmph, can be expected at times in the Northern, North-central, North-western, and Southern provinces, as well as in the Trincomalee district.

The Meteorology Department urges the public to take necessary precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
