Showers Forecast Across Multiple Areas Today, Says Meteorology Department

The Department of Meteorology has forecast intermittent showers today (13) across several parts of the country, including the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as the districts of Nuwara Eliya, Kandy, Galle, and Matara.

Occasional showers are also likely in the North-Western Province, while isolated showers or thundershowers may develop in the Uva and Eastern provinces during the afternoon or evening hours.

In addition, strong winds ranging between 40–50 kmph are expected at times over the western slopes of the central hills and in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, North-Western, and North-Central provinces.

The Department advises the public to take necessary precautions to mitigate potential damage from temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
