Several spells of showers are expected in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts, according to the Department of Meteorology.
The Department said a few showers may also occur in the North Western Province, while mainly dry weather is expected to prevail over the rest of the island.
Meanwhile, strong winds of 40–50 km/h are expected at times over the western slopes of the Central Hills, the North Central, Sabaragamuwa and North Western provinces, as well as the Hambantota, Trincomalee and Mannar districts.
The Department of Meteorology has advised the public to take necessary precautions to minimize the risk of damage caused by strong winds and to stay updated with the latest weather advisories.
