The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) has commenced providing fuel to private buses through its depot network across the island.
SLTB Chairman Sujeewa Kanakaratne said fuel distribution will take place at 103 out of the 107 depots nationwide.
He noted that only buses registered with the National Transport Commission (NTC) and currently in operation will be eligible to receive fuel under this system.
Private bus owners have been advised to verify whether their vehicles are registered with the NTC or the relevant Provincial Road Passenger Transport Authority before obtaining fuel.
Following verification, eligible operators can obtain the required fuel for their journeys from designated SLTB depots.
