SLTB to Deploy Special Bus Services for New Year Travel Rush

The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) has announced the operation of special bus services for the Sinhala and Tamil New Year festive season.

SLTB Chairman Sajeewa Kanakarathna stated that the special transport programme will run from April 9 to April 21.

Accordingly, additional buses will operate from April 9 to 13 for passengers travelling out of Colombo, while return services to Colombo will be facilitated from April 15 to 21.

To accommodate increased passenger demand, the SLTB will deploy an additional 1,500 buses alongside its regular fleet.

In addition, around 50 buses will be assigned to operate within and around Colombo based on demand during the festive period.
