The third and final T20 International of the three-match series between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh is scheduled to take place this evening (16 July) at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo. The match is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
With the series tied 1-1, both sides will be looking to secure the decider. Sri Lanka claimed a comfortable seven-wicket victory in the opening match, but Bangladesh bounced back strongly, handing the hosts a crushing 83-run defeat in the second T20I—their largest win against a Test-playing nation in the format.
Despite that emphatic performance, Bangladesh have yet to win a T20 series against Sri Lanka. In five previous bilateral series, their best result was a drawn two-match series during their 2017 tour of Sri Lanka. In total, the two sides have met 19 times in T20Is, with Sri Lanka winning 12 and Bangladesh 7.
Tonight’s clash also marks the end of Bangladesh’s multi-format tour of Sri Lanka, which began with a two-match Test series (won 1-0 by Sri Lanka), followed by a three-match ODI series (won 2-1 by Sri Lanka).
