Sri Lanka and EU Hold 27th Joint Commission Session in Colombo Today

Sri Lanka and the European Union are holding the 27th Session of the EU–Sri Lanka Joint Commission in Colombo today (12).

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sri Lanka, the high-level meeting brings together senior officials from both sides to review and strengthen cooperation in key areas including governance, human rights, trade, development cooperation, as well as other bilateral and regional priorities.

The Joint Commission is co-chaired by Aruni Ranaraja, Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism, and Paola Pampaloni, Acting Managing Director for Asia and the Pacific at the European External Action Service.

The visiting EU delegation is also scheduled to meet senior Sri Lankan dignitaries to discuss collaborative approaches and identify concrete next steps to further strengthen the ongoing partnership, the Ministry said.
