The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) has announced that 93,915 tourists arrived in the country during the first half of April.
According to data released by the SLTDA, the highest number of arrivals so far this month has been from India, with 18,220 Indian tourists accounting for 19.4% of total visitors.
Other key source markets include the United Kingdom with 11,425 arrivals, Russia with 8,705, Germany with 7,746, and Australia with 6,604 visitors.
With the latest figures for April, total tourist arrivals in Sri Lanka for 2025 have risen to 816,191. Among them, 136,535 visitors are from India, 102,273 from the United Kingdom, and 81,130 from Russia, the SLTDA noted.
In March alone, 229,298 foreign nationals visited the country, reflecting a 9.62% increase compared to March 2024.
