Sri Lanka Records Over 40,000 Tourist Arrivals in First Week of June

Sri Lanka has recorded 43,962 tourist arrivals so far in June, according to the latest data released by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).

India continues to lead as the top source market, contributing 12,362 arrivals, which accounts for 28.1% of the total. The United Kingdom followed with 3,740 visitors, while 2,717 tourists arrived from Bangladesh, 2,439 from Germany, and 2,403 from China.

Cumulatively, total tourist arrivals for 2025 have now reached 1,073,765. India remains the highest contributor with 216,422 arrivals, followed by Russia with 111,285 and the UK with 100,014 visitors, as per SLTDA statistics.

The steady growth in arrivals reflects a positive trend in Sri Lanka’s tourism recovery and highlights the island’s appeal as a travel destination across key international markets.
