The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) announced that 75,358 tourists arrived in the country during the first two weeks of September.
According to the latest SLTDA data, India continues to be the leading source market, with 21,389 arrivals, accounting for 28.4% of the total. This was followed by 5,714 visitors from the United Kingdom, 4,817 from Germany, 4,056 from China, and 3,834 from France.
Meanwhile, total tourist arrivals for 2025 have reached 1,641,881, the SLTDA said. Of these, 346,984 are from India, 156,855 from the UK, and 120,314 from Russia.
The report also noted that 198,235 foreign nationals visited Sri Lanka in August, marking a 20.4% increase compared to August 2024.
