Sri Lanka has expressed deep concern over Israel’s decision to seize control of Gaza City, warning that the move could further escalate violence and deepen the suffering of its people.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism said the decision would heighten tensions in the already war-torn Palestinian territory.
The remarks follow Israel’s security cabinet approval on Friday of a plan to take control of Gaza City, expanding military operations in the region — a move that has drawn strong criticism both domestically and internationally.
