Sri Lanka Welcomes 77,482 Tourists in First 10 Days of August, India Leads Arrivals

The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) announced that 77,482 tourists arrived in the country during the first ten days of August.

According to SLTDA data, 13,511 visitors came from India, accounting for 17.4% of arrivals. Other significant sources included the United Kingdom with 8,691 tourists, Italy with 6,036, China with 5,659, and France with 5,518 visitors.

The total number of tourists arriving in Sri Lanka in 2025 has now reached 1,445,770. Among them, 292,633 are from India, 140,068 from the UK, and 116,895 from Russia, the SLTDA noted.

In July, Sri Lanka welcomed 200,244 foreign tourists, marking a 6.6% increase compared to July 2024 figures.
