Sri Lankan Injured in UAE Air Attacks; Authorities Issue Safety Advisory

March 2, 2026

A Sri Lankan national is reported to be among those injured following recent air attacks in the United Arab Emirates.

According to foreign media reports, 58 foreign nationals — including one Sri Lankan — sustained minor injuries during the incident.

The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) stated that Sri Lankan embassy officials in the region have been briefed on emergency response protocols.

The SLBFE urged all Sri Lankan migrant workers in the affected region to immediately contact their respective embassies in the event of an emergency.

Given the prevailing instability, Sri Lankan citizens have been advised to limit unnecessary travel and strictly adhere to instructions issued by diplomatic missions.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sri Lanka has issued the following safety guidelines:

  • Stay updated through reliable local media and official government announcements in the host country.

  • Avoid non-essential travel and large public gatherings.

  • Maintain constant contact with the nearest Sri Lankan diplomatic mission.

  • Keep mobile phones fully charged at all times.

  • Always carry valid identification and essential travel documents.
