A 32-year-old Sri Lankan arriving from Dubai was arrested at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) for attempting to smuggle 35 kilograms of gold into the country, according to an Ada Derana report.
The suspect, a resident of the Grandpass area, was found in possession of 195 gold biscuits and 13 kilograms of gold jewellery, with the total estimated value amounting to approximately Rs. 1.1 billion.
