Sri Lanka recorded 93,486 tourist arrivals so far in June, according to the latest data released by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA), marking continued momentum in the country’s post-pandemic tourism recovery.
India remained the top source market, accounting for 27,504 visitors, or 29.4% of total arrivals this month. The United Kingdom followed with 7,716 tourists, while 6,097 arrived from China, 5,035 from Bangladesh, and 4,594 from Australia.
With June’s figures included, total tourist arrivals for 2025 have now reached 1,123,289, the SLTDA reported.
Of the overall arrivals this year, 231,564 were from India, reaffirming its position as Sri Lanka’s largest tourism market. Russia contributed 111,940 visitors, while 103,990 arrivals were recorded from the United Kingdom.
Tourism authorities expect the steady growth to continue through the year, boosted by improved connectivity, promotional efforts, and regional peace.
