Sri Lankan Airlines and Korean Air have officially launched a new codeshare partnership effective from 15 March, offering improved travel options and connections for customers flying between Colombo and Seoul.
The partnership allows SriLankan Airlines to codeshare on flights operated by Korean Air between Singapore and Seoul Incheon, enabling passengers to book a single ‘SriLankan Airlines’ ticket for travel between Colombo and Incheon via Singapore.
Simultaneously, Korean Air will codeshare on flights operated by SriLankan Airlines connecting Colombo with Seoul Incheon, Singapore, Chennai in India, and Male in the Maldives.
Although SriLankan Airlines currently operates a twice-weekly direct service between Colombo and Incheon, with the addition of Korean Air’s extensive Far Eastern network through codeshare collaboration, passengers now have the option of daily flights between Colombo and Seoul via Singapore.
Passengers of Korean Air will also benefit from access to SriLankan Airlines’ extensive network in the Indian Subcontinent. SriLankan Airlines offers comprehensive coverage in India and the Maldives, operating nearly 100 flights a week across nine Indian cities and 23 flights a week to the Maldives, including triple daily flights between Colombo and Chennai, and Colombo and Male.

The passenger traffic between the two cities continues to exceed our expectations, and the partnership will only help us expand our presence in this route efficiently, providing customers with more reasons to choose SriLankan Airlines.”
The codeshare flights are now available for sale through the online reservation systems and sales offices of both SriLankan Airlines and Korean Air, as well as external online and offline travel agencies. Passengers of both airlines can benefit from multiple flight options and seamless connections provided by the convenience of a single ticket for multi-sector journeys, including through check-in and baggage transfer.
The commencement of the codeshare partnership between SriLankan Airlines and Korean Air marks a significant milestone in enhancing connectivity between Sri Lanka and South Korea.
With an increase in flight choices, streamlined connections, and strengthened market presence, both airlines are poised to offer an enhanced travel experience for passengers while fostering stronger ties between the two nations.
