The Department of Motor Traffic has decided to issue temporary driving licences at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake for Sri Lankan citizens and dual citizens returning from overseas.
These temporary licences will be issued based on valid foreign driving licences currently held by the applicants.
According to the Department, a dedicated counter at the airport is already issuing temporary driving licences to foreign tourists based on their respective overseas licences. This service has been operational since August 3.
