“The Middle East Crisis Cannot Be Taken Lightly – Attention Is Crucial,” Says Former UNP Deputy Leader Ravi Karunanayake

Former Deputy Leader of the United National Party, MP Ravi Karunanayake, has stressed that Sri Lanka remains affected by the recent Israel-Iran conflict.

Speaking to the media, he noted that although the war has been resolved, Sri Lanka must remain prepared for any eventualities.

MP Karunanayake highlighted that the primary challenge for the country in such crises is the potential disruption of oil imports, making advanced preparedness essential.

He also emphasized the need to ensure the safety of Sri Lankans working in the Middle East, who contribute significantly to the nation’s foreign exchange earnings.
