Former Deputy Leader of the United National Party (UNP), MP Ravi Karunanayake, says that it is the people who should determine whether the government’s budget proposal provides meaningful relief.
Speaking to the media, he noted that former President Ranil Wickremesinghe laid the foundation for the country’s current economic situation.
Karunanayake emphasized that his efforts have always focused on strengthening the economy, regardless of political affiliation. He added that the current government is continuing the economic journey initiated by the UNP.
For this reason, the MP described this year’s budget as a significant and valuable step for the country.
