The United National Party is a strong party with a strong past, not a party belonging to one or two people, says former Deputy Leader of the party, MP Ravi Karunanayake.
The MP also said that rather than talking about one or two such people, it is necessary to rebuild the party by thinking about all UNP members.
He also pointed out that a group of people will not give a chance to a long-time UNP activist like him, who also asks about party members.
The MP emphasized that he has been representing Parliament for 26 years and was elected to Parliament on 05 occasions during that time by popular vote.
The MP also pointed out that although he is maintaining power in the Colombo district by winning public votes, the people who are trying to destroy the party have not been able to seize power in Colombo.
