In a notable surge, more than 25,000 tourists have graced Sri Lanka in the opening four days of the new year, as disclosed by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).
From January 1st to the 4th, a total of 25,619 tourists explored the diverse landscapes of the country. The largest contingent, comprising 5,060 individuals, hailed from Russia, while 3,333 visitors arrived from India.
The SLTDA highlights that a substantial influx of tourists has been recorded from other prominent nations, including Germany, Britain, Australia, China, France, Netherlands, and the United States.
Comparatively, over the entire preceding year, a remarkable total of 1,487,303 tourists chose Sri Lanka as their destination, affirming the country’s enduring appeal on the global tourism stage.
